Interfaith Soul Path

The Rev. Jan Jamilla Hine

Interfaith Minister, Psycho Spiritual Counsellor,
Registered General Nurse, Psychotherapist & Reiki Master

I was ordained as an Interfaith Minister & Spiritual Counsellor in August 2005, having completed the 2 year training program with the Interfaith Seminary.

This was an inspirational experience that has not only provided me with multi-faith knowledge and skills, but has also confirmed my commitment to my own spiritual journey and to the diversity of faiths and beliefs. As an interfaith minister I have been trained to meet emerging spiritual needs, and to honour, value and respect difference across faiths, whilst focussing and building on the commonalities. As a result of this training I feel well equipped to act as a non-denominational minister supporting the spiritual needs of individuals of all faiths or none. Since being ordained I have been regularly involved in devising and delivering a range of ceremonies for families and individuals where more than one faith is represented.

I have over 20 years experience of counselling and providing spiritual support in a variety of settings.

My work is about celebrating life as much as dealing with illness and with loss. It is keeping this balance which makes us whole. I work with people on an individual level to help them to achieve their ultimate potential and to live their life as fully as possible.

I am a registered general nurse, trained in London , with 30 years experience of working with people living with chronic life-threatening illness and other difficult problems. I completed a course in care of the dying at St. Christopher's Hospice, London in 1979.

My work in healthcare is dedicated to a holistic approach to individuals and particularly to end of life care.

I hold a BA in combined studies (psychology & law) and a MA in Counselling & psychotherapy and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in August 2005.

I took my Reiki master/teacher degree in May 2008.

I believe that as an Interfaith Minister and experienced nurse counsellor I can offer:

  • An ability to work effectively with people of different faiths or no specific faith.
  • Respect for all faiths and beliefs
  • A positive, inclusive approach to care.
  • A depth of experience of working with people facing chronic, life-threatening illness.
  • A commitment to meeting the spiritual and psychological needs of patients, families and friends.
  • Ability to raise professional awareness of different spiritual needs

We have all come to the right place
We all sit in God's classroom
Now the only thing for us to do my dear,
Is to stop throwing spitballs for a while
